Still leaning into the winter vibes, which means Snowfall continues to get some long overdue love! As one of my two truesonas – the fursonas that genuinely represent me in mind, body, and soul – they’ve been with me as I’ve explored my sexuality, gender identity, and transition needs since I was a teenager. Although I decided to stop taking estrogen, they didn’t and will continue to transition as the fabulous queer femme that they are.
I love how this image by XannyBarks captures a version of myself I very easily could have become if I hadn’t decided to change course. That’s not to say that I won’t reconsider HRT again in the future, I like to think of identity and life as being malleable things, open to growth and exploration and change. There are no absolutes for me, no singular ways of being. And my fursonas, including Snowfall, really showcase that to me.
