I’ve officially gotten the coolest fucking letter in the mail ever!
It’s from one of my favorite sex workers and performers in the industry right now, Mx. Praxis Phanes. who was in the running for a couple of ManyVids Awards last month. As an incentive for voting, ey offered a lot of eir services at a heavily discounted rate and among them was the option to get a custom polaroid!
So of-fucking-course I wanted one! I’m a really sentimental person in general and much like how I’m a fan of other folks and things, I like collecting stuff that feel a little more personal to them.
Anyway, it got me thinking about how differently I treat my nerdiness about non sexual stuff vs. my nerdiness about sex workers, bloggers, pornographers, and erotica authors. Like, I’m quick to tell you all about how I’m still a HUGE sucker for Marvel movies, and I fucking LOVE the Assassin’s Creed franchise even through its weaker outings, or how I still read the World of Warcraft books, even though I’m not playing it anymore, because I genuinely like the world of Azeroth and the shit that happens there.
But when it comes to the sex related people and content I’m really into, I’ve recently realize that not only do I not talk about it a lot outside of the blog, but I also don’t really gush about it here or on my Twitter nearly as much as I feel like I should either.
So, I’m changing that now! I’m actually thinking about getting a frame for the thank you card, polaroid, and business card Mx Praxis sent because I think it’s really cool and want to display it.
Why? Because I’m a huge fucking fan!
