Y’all, this is the first time in decades that I’m nearing the end of December and I’m “damn, what a great fucking year!”
2025 saw me not only writing another book, but two more in Carry On: Unpacking Your Internalized Transphbobic and Queerphobic Baggage, and, Nonmonogamy and Queer Inclusivity, with Thornapple Press. Both come out during the Summer of 2026. On top of that I ended up being named the Gold Winner for LGBTQ+ Nonfiction in the 2024 Foreword Indies Book of the Year Awards, and have since signed another two book deals! One I’ll be writing under Thornapple Press and the other I’ll be co-writing with my partner Fen for Jessica Kingsley Publisher out of the UK!
Outside of writing I took a much more active role in my local and provincial 2SLGBTQ+ community this past year. I worked with OutSaskatoon as part of a grant and provided six free-to-the-public workshops. Additionally, I was invited to participate in a Trans Health Bootcamp, spoke to a class at the University of Saskatchewan, and continued my work at the Clinical Learning Resource Centre as a Simulated Patient and Urogenital Teaching Associate.
On top of all of this, I had some of the absolute coolest travel experiences as I was able to go to three separate furry conventions in Alberta, meeting tons of new friends, and finally fully embracing my fursonas. But more on that in my next post later this week!
